To be eligible for the Express Entry Program, applicants must qualify under one of the following immigrant categories:
In order to complete your online Express Entry Profile, you need to provide information regarding your education, language, employment and other relevant details. Those who meet the criteria of one of the three immigration programs, will be accepted into a pool of candidates.
After you have been accepted into a pool, you will earn points base on the information that you have submitted in your profile. If you have a job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact assessment (LMIA), a Provincial Nomination, Canadian education or Canadian work experience, you will be awarded additional points. You will be ranked against others in the pool using a point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS). Points will be given using the information in your profile.
If you do not have a job offer from a Canadian employer or a nomination from a province or territory, you will be required to register with the government of Canada job bank. When you are registered with the Job Bank, you can potentially be connected with Canadian employers.
These additional points can make a potential candidate’s points high enough to be invited to apply for the next round of invitations.
If your score is the same and/or higher than the minimum CRS score for that round of invitations, you will receive an Invitation to Apply( ITA) for permanent residence.
Once you have been invited to apply for permanent residence, you will have ninety (90) days to submit your electronic application under the specific category in which you have received an ITA.
